The present study involved an in-depth analysis of the various proverbs we recorded during our fieldwork among the Mongo of Basankusu and Bolomba. We collected 100 proverbs divided into four chapters. These are presented as follows: - Proverbs relating to the upbringing of children and women;- Proverbs relating to economic life, marriage and death;- Proverbs for everyone.The main aim of our work is to promote African culture in general and the case of the Mongo in particular.Let's compile the written history of the Mongo of Basankusu and Bolomba, invite the people to become aware of the loss of their identity and culture, in other words: stop deculturation.Carefully preserve the cultural heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors, and pass it on to today's and tomorrow's generations
