This book sets out what you can effortlessly do about your thoughts to feel better. The central character develops mental rules to survive the aftermath of child abuse. The narrator illustrates specific situations in which the protagonist executes those rules - two simple precepts which can be universally adopted to transform daily routines. The writing's rule-based leitmotiv is the perception of the self in the immediacy of the moment to ease the passage through life.Entertaining characters, places and conversations are absent; in the long run, the individual psyche cannot personally profit from their elaboration. However, should readers begin to apply the dual rules to their advantage, the emphasis on utility should not detract from the competitiveness of the novel among peers.Additionally, the proponent believes the intrinsic development of brain power is at a stasis. He presumes that the child's mind can be remodeled to accelerate the course of human evolution past its current point of inflection. Compelled by his own victimization, he formulates a schema for juveniles - to limber them up as intellectual giants. As they mature into adulthood in a new world, he expects New World children to bootstrap themselves into an advanced species of Homo sapiens, a variety that will inadvertently also be more ethical.The presentation is literary not only in deference to its usefulness but also as a commemoration of the sumptuousness of the language. The style will, on occasion, be doubly pleasing if each sentence is reread before proceeding to the next one, much like fine chocolate that will taste better if it is allowed to linger. Furthermore, to avoid cloying, one small chapter a day will serve the best.
