This was certainly something teacher Doris Hilliard Howze kept in mind when she began her teaching career. A is for Attitude (how to identify classroom disrupters), B is for Belonging (how to understand class social dynamics), C is Conversations (how to strengthen conversation skills), and so on. Howze uses moments from her own teaching experiences to serve as examples for each letter. From kindergarten to middle school, each classroom she instructed taught her something new about her vocation. A teacher's job is to identify and nurture the potential in each young person who walks into the classroom.
