Reseña del libro "Every Now and Then: The Amazing Stories of Douglas County, Georgia Volume I (en Inglés)"
Finally! A large section of Lisa Land Cooper's research in book form! Here you find 140 of Lisa's weekly columns featured in the Douglas County Sentinel regarding local history. Topics revolve around the history of Douglas County, Georgia and the surrounding area including a bit of Atlanta history. Topics include old Campbell County, the lost town of Campbellton, the Sweetwater Park Hotel, the Piedmont Chautauqua, the founding of Douglas County and the city of Douglasville, plus much more. This book is not intended to be a complete history, but does represent a large slice of Lisa Land Cooper's research over the last six years. The book will become a handy resource for local history buffs as well as genealogists. The book includes a detailed index including names of people, places, streets, and businesses, the columns are arranged in chronological order, and 30 images are provided. Lisa Land Cooper states in the book's introduction, "At this point it was it was becoming a bit overwhelming for me to remember what I had published within the columns and what still "lived" within my notes, so I decided to publish the early columns with a detailed index, so I could have all of the early columns in one easy place to search. My work to find more pieces of the puzzle is ongoing."
