And what if the roles were reversed? What if the animal was the master of this world, and the human was its faithful friend, whose fate would lie in the hands or rather, in the paws of animals. What if it was the dog that made a decision if and when it would take the human home... Let us move to a world where dogs have families, jobs, houses and cars. Dogs solve everyday problems, and have their worries and joys. The only thing they need in order to be happy, is a faithful friend who would make their family complete. A human. Trading places, the unconditional love of a human, but also a sense of hurt that occurs in a relationship of a human and a dog - that role reversal allows us to identify with the animals surrounding us, and thus to treat them with due respect. This book will help the reader learn how to be empathetic, to understand the feelings evoked in a dog living in a human environment, and to realise that humans often usurps the right to decide about the dogs fate...the right which is sometimes completely unjustified. Looking for a target audience, I shared my book with a small group of people, only to receive a positive feedback from them. The book had the most enthusiastic reception among the readers from the age group ranging from 8 to 12 years old. Those children claimed that even a few days after finishing the book, they were still thinking about its characters and their life events. What is more interesting, adult readers have admitted that the book was an eye opener for them, and that they have completely changed their perception of dogs as parts of our lives. This book is geared toward the young and old, however, the best solution is for children and adults to read it together. The book " I Want a Human" is the first book in the series of "Animal Stories". Currently, the author is working on future adventures of Doggy, who is growing up fast. It is a children's book, however reading it may also help adults sort out their attitudes.
