"We were now 6 minutes late. The pressure had been building. The weight of a big decision, the lack of task completion, the overwhelm, the deadline, the irritation of the perception of silly arguments... the hot-mess-rediculousness of it all!!I lost my cool. I identified it in a millisecond of recognition.And so, I paused... and pressed the brake. I must change this now. The car came to an abrupt halt at the bottom of the driveway. The girls were silent. I threw it in park."Girls. I need a minute." Time was of the essence, we were now MORE late, and it was blazing hot outside. But this had to be handled now, or I was about to go ballistic on them...."Hot mess moments. Blow up and melt downs. We have all had a temper tantrum before.
