During his time at Big Richards, Jake witnessed the rigors the working class endures in corporate America where workers battled with management, each trying to get the better of the other. Everyone he encountered experienced romance, love, and humor all while struggling to survive. With the incident with Bella in the Raccoon River, he'd come to the conclusion there would be no more of those damnable rites, only good ones. He was wrong in one case, right in the other.
