Another example from the scriptures is John the Baptist in John 1:23 (KJV) "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord." John the Baptist came to prepare the way for Jesus' coming and his assignment was over, after introducing Jesus in Jordan.
